Josh Hamilton available to pinch-hit Monday night
Josh Hamilton was recently hospitalized with a virus and has missed each of the last three games, but he's available for pinch-hitting duties for Monday's series-opener against the Padres.
Josh Hamilton is not in the Rangers' lineup for Monday night's game against the Padres, but he is available to pinch-hit, Ron Washington told reporters.
According to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Hamilton said he lost 10 or 11 pounds because of an illness that had him hospitalized this weekend. The 2010 MVP shagged fly balls and took batting practice on Monday afternoon in San Diego and then also participated in the team's regular batting practice session before the game.
Hamilton said he had no problems after the workout. He hasn't played since last Thursday.
