Cardinals pitcher Justin Masterson was chased in the third inning of Friday's loss, giving up five earned runs on seven hits and three walks in two-plus innings and striking out two in his team's 12-2 defeat against the Orioles.

Masterson (5-7) gave up four runs in the second inning, with three coming on a home run. He then allowed another home run to the leadoff hitter in the third and loaded the bases before being pulled, but no further damage was done in the inning. Masterson owns a 5.94 ERA and 99:62 K:BB ratio in 106 innings, and he's surrendered five earned runs in five of his last seven starts. He's slated to face the Marlins Wednesday.
