The Korea Baseball Organization is one of the best leagues outside the United States, and it's currently the main show available for baseball handicappers. On Sunday, all 10 teams will be in action including the league-leading NC Dinos (9-1) as they look to complete the sweep of the SK Wyverns (1-9) to run their current winning streak to six games. The Dinos are massive -230 favorites over the Wyverns (+190) in the latest KBO odds.
Meanwhile, the KT Wiz have scored 24 runs in the last two games and they're -180 favorites at home against the Samsung Lions (+150). Can the Wiz offense continue producing for over backers with the over-under set at 9 for Sunday's matchup? Before locking in any KBO picks for Sunday's games, be sure to see the Korean baseball best bets from SportsLine data engineer Mike McClure, who has hit 16 of his last 27 KBO picks.
Recognized in the book "Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn your hobby into a Fortune" as a top Daily Fantasy Baseball Player, McClure has won almost $2 million in daily Fantasy sports. And in 2016, McClure launched the wOBA Projection Model for MLB picks, which has returned $2,300 to $100 bettors. If anybody knows how to spot value in baseball lines, it's him.
Now, he's turned his attention to the KBO League and locked in three strong picks for Sunday. Parlaying his three selections would pay out almost 7-1. You can only see them here.
Top Korean Baseball predictions for May 17
One of McClure's top KBO picks for Sunday: He's backing the Doosan Bears at -135 as they visit the Kia Tigers. The Doosan offense is one of the most powerful in the KBO, with Choi Joo-hwan, Jose Miguel Fernandez, Oh Jae-won, Oh Jae-il and Kim Jae-hwan all having an OPS of at least 1.000 so far this season. They've also already hit 17 home runs collectively as a team.
They're scheduled to take on former Royals, Athletics and Orioles right-hander Aaron Brooks, and he's had a couple of solid starts in his first KBO season, but the left-handed power in the Doosan lineup preys on right-handed pitching and Brooks has been prone to giving up the long ball (1.6 HR/9 in the MLB). Meanwhile, the Bears are expected to go with Raul Alcantara, and although he hasn't been at his sharpest this season, he's had a 1.83 ERA over his last three starts against Kia.
How to make KBO picks for May 17
McClure has found value on two other picks, including one money line he says is way off. Be sure to see what he's picking over at SportsLine before making any Korea Baseball picks.
