Madison Bumgarner named MVP of NLCS
Giants lefty Madison Bumgarner has been named the MVP of the NLCS.
Thanks to Travis Ishikawa's walk-off three-run home run in Game 5 of the NLCS on Thursday night (SF 6, STL 3), the Giants have advanced to their third World Series in the last five years. They'll play the Royals in the Fall Classic starting on Tuesday.
Ace left-hander Madison Bumgarner was named MVP of the NLCS. He held the Cardinals to three runs in eight innings in Game 5 after throwing 7 2/3 scoreless innings in Game 1. Bumgarner finished the series with a 1.72 ERA in his two starts.
Between the wild-card game, the NLDS and NLCS, Bumgarner has a 1.42 ERA in four starts and 31 2/3 innings this postseason. He threw a complete-game shutout in the wild-card game to get the Giants into the NLDS.
