Mariners look like potential player for Bourn

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Mariners may be emerging as a possible suitor for Michael Bourn.

The Phillies are among other teams looking at Bourn.

Seattle has been in on Josh Hamilton and Justin Upton and has been seen as targeting corner players more than a canter fielder, but they could sign Bourn and move Franklin Gutierrez to a corner outfield spot.

The Nationals, Braves and Giants have filled their center field jobs, narrowing the focus for Bourn, who has been expected to get a little more than B.J. Upton, who signed for $75.25 million with the Braves over five years.

The Mariners badly need offense, so they are in on a lot of hitters. Bourn would be give the Mariners one of the best defensive outfields in the game, as he is considered one of the two or three best center fielders in baseball.
