Mariners DH Corey Hart has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a hamstring injury, the club announced Tuesday. As a corresponding move, middle infielder Nick Franklin has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.

Hart, 32, injured the hamstring Sunday. He's hitting .209/.295/.353 (86 OPS+) with five doubles, five homers and 17 RBI this season.

Franklin, 23, had a seven-game stint with the Mariners earlier this season and hit .125/.222/.250 with a triple. In Triple-A this season, Franklin is crushing the ball, though. In 30 games, he's hitting .376/.481/.633 with seven doubles, seven homers and 26 RBI. He had 20 doubles and 12 homers in 102 games last season as a rookie -- though he also hit just .225/.303/.382.

Still, might Franklin get a few looks over Brad Miller, eventually? The 24-year-old Miller is hitting .154/.223/.257 on the season as the everyday shortstop.

For now, though, it appears both will be in the lineup, with one of the two serving as DH in Hart's stead.
