Mechanical issue with plane delays Cardinals' flight to Boston
The Cardinals are fortunate Tuesday is a travel day for the World Series -- their flight to Boston has been significantly delayed.
UPDATE: The Cardinals' plane left St. Louis around 8 p.m. and was scheduled to land in Boston at around 11 p.m.
As if heading on the road to Fenway Park down three games-to-two in the World Series wasn't bad enough, the Cardinals are having a hard time simply traveling to Boston. Their flight has been delayed:
As of this afternoon, the Cardinals are still in St. Louis and they are not expected to arrive in Beantown until late tonight.
That's a rather big inconvenience -- I'm sure the club was looking forward to getting into town early, getting a workout in and then getting a good night's sleep -- but I don't expect it to have any effect on the team's play in Wednesday's Game 6. Baseball players are used to crazy sleep schedules and all night travel. This is just more of the same.
