Mets' Matt Harvey good to start Thursday vs. Cards and Wainwright
Mets phenom Matt Harvey, who left his Saturday start because of lower-back tightness, has been cleared to start Thursday.
Mets right-hander Matt Harvey, who was forced to exit his Saturday start because of tightness in his lower back, is on target to start Thursday against Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals.
Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that, according to Harvey, a chiropractic manuever performed in the clubhouse realigned his back.
"Everything is fine," Harvey said. "I woke up today. Felt good. They told me my start date is Thursday. So I’m ready to go."
Harvey, 24, has been outstanding across 13 starts this season: 2.10 ERA, 174 ERA+, 5.00 K/BB ratio, 27.5 K%.
So ... Thursday: Harvey vs. Wainwright. Noted.
