Mets place RHP Mike Pelfrey on DL with right elbow injury
The Mets have placed right-hander Mike Pelfrey on the 15-day disabled list with selling in his right elbow.
The team has yet to rule out ligament damage, according to CBSSports Insider Jon Heyman.
Pelfrey, 29, had a 2.29 ERA in three starts this season with no decisions.
To replace Pelfrey, the team called up left-handed reliever Robert Carson. Carson, 23, has a 3.18 ERA in five appearances this season, striking out six batters in 5 2/3 innings.
