Obviously, the best of five League Divisional Series round means games four and five carry the "if necessary" asterisk while the same applies for the best-of-seven LCS and World Series rounds.

The teams with the best record host games 1, 2 and 5 in the LDS round and 1, 2, 6 and 7 in the LCS round. By virtue of winning the All-Star Game, the AL team will host games 1, 2, 6 and 7 in the World Series.

The World Series ended on October 29 last season. The last time it went into November was in 2010, when the Giants won the series in five games, with the fifth game coming on November 1. In 2009, the six-game series went to November 4. The 2001 Fall Classic also went to November 4, which is the latest on a calendar the World Series has ever been played.
