MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks and lineups for Sunday, August 11, 2019

With aces like Jacob deGrom, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Luis Castillo among the pitchers scheduled to start on Sunday, MLB DFS players will need to pay close attention to the matchups as they set lineups on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings. Can you trust players like Cubs infielders Kris Bryant and Javier Baez against Castillo? Is there anybody in Arizona's lineup that can return value against Ryu? Can deGrom limit big bats like Juan Soto and Anthony Rendon? These are the types of questions MLB DFS players will be debating, and before coming to any conclusions, see what SportsLine's resident daily Fantasy baseball guru, Mike McClure, has to say. He's a DFS pro with almost $2 million in career winnings and his optimal MLB DFS lineups, picks and advice can help you navigate all of Sunday's storylines.

When it comes to MLB, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book "Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune" as a top MLB DFS player, McClure's proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

He got off to a hot start in 2019, producing lineups on SportsLine that have returned as much as 30x in the first half of the season. He's also finished in the top 1 percent of tournaments four times and the top 0.1 percent of tournaments twice this season already. He cashed huge in three consecutive tournaments in mid-June, which included a top 2 percent finish when his DraftKings lineup generated a whopping 185.9 points. He also had an optimal lineup on FanDuel that cashed 8x for followers right before the All-Star break.

Then on Friday, he was all over Albert Pujols at $2,800 on FanDuel. The result: Pujols hit a three-run home run -- returning nearly 29 points and over 10x value. Anybody who followed his advice was well on their way to a huge day. Now, McClure has set his sights on Sunday's slates.

One of McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Sunday is Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez ($4,200 on FanDuel, $5,700 on DraftKings), who is on an eight-game hitting streak with multiple hits in five of those contests. The 22-year-old has shown immense power since being called up in June, and he flashed it again on Saturday with two more home runs.

Alvarez and the Astros will take on the Orioles on Sunday, and Baltimore will be going with Asher Wojciechowski as its starter. He has a lifetime 6.06 ERA and a WHIP of 1.41, so there should be plenty of opportunities for Alvarez to continue his hitting streak and pile up points for MLB DFS players.

Part of McClure's optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius ($3,200 on FanDuel, $4,200 on DraftKings), who has recorded at least one hit in six of his last seven games. He has a great chance return big value as he takes on Trent Thornton (4-7, 5.55 ERA), a pitcher he's hit a home run against despite facing him just twice ever.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Sunday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won't break the bank. This pick could be the difference between cashing in big or going home with nothing.
