Lost in the brilliance of Shohei Ohtani and slugging prowess of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is that Bryce Harper, himself, is putting up MVP numbers over in the National League. Harper leads the NL in OPS while also ranking fourth in home runs (33) and batting average (.311) for a Phillies team still in playoff contention. Facing the lowly Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, Harper will be one of the most popular MLB DFS picks in daily Fantasy baseball.

But with price tags of $4,400 on FanDuel and $6,000 on DraftKings, Harper won't come cheaply for your MLB DFS lineups. Thus, in order to roster him, you'll have to search for value elsewhere in the MLB DFS player pool. So, before submitting any MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book "Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune" as a top MLB DFS player, McClure's proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Monday, McClure gave out Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Judge went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored, which returned 12 points on DraftKings and 15.7 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure's top MLB DFS picks for September 21, 2021

Leading McClure's picks on Tuesday is Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts, who is listed at $4,100 on FanDuel and $6,400 on DraftKings. Betts' 11-game hitting streak is the second-longest in the majors and he's hit .372 during the streak. He also has five multi-hit games during this stretch as his batting average has jumped 11 points.

Betts has missed some time with injuries but is having another stellar all-around season. He has 21 home runs, 54 RBI and 10 stolen bases, while hitting .276 on the season. Betts has to be salivating at the Tuesday matchup against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela as the former MVP has owned the righty. Betts is 5-for-11 (.455) in his career vs. Senzatela with two home runs and a double.

Another key in McClure's optimal MLB DFS strategy is rostering Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera ($2,600 on FanDuel, $3,600 on DraftKings). After not playing for nearly two years, Herrera returned to the majors earlier this year and has hit 13 home runs with 50 RBI and six stolen bases.

Herrera has considerably more success against right-handed pitchers like the one he'll see on Tuesday in Chris Ellis of Baltimore. The 29-year-old Venezuelan has an OPS that's 44 points higher against RHPs than LHPs as 10 of his 13 homers have also come off righties. Also, the Orioles' team ERA of 5.91 is the worst in baseball, and by a wide margin, so Herrera should tee off no matter who is on the mound for Baltimore.
