Two lefties will start off the ALCS as the Boston Red Sox visit the Houston Astros with first pitch set for 8:07 p.m. ET. Chris Sale's postseason production has yet to match his regular season performance but he'll take the ball for Boston, while Framber Valdez -- who has a 3-1 career playoff record -- gets the call for Houston. With two southpaws up, there are lots of potential matchups to exploit for Friday's MLB DFS lineups.

Yuli Gurriel has feasted off Sale with a .375 average across eight at-bats, so should the Cuban first baseman factor into your MLB DFS strategy? As for Valdez, shortstop Xander Bogaerts has gotten the better of him with a .333 career average, so he certainly has appeal for Friday. But which undervalued players could make an impact in Game 1 of the ALCS and as top MLB DFS picks? Before making any tough decisions on your MLB DFS picks for Red Sox vs. Astros, make sure you check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Friday, October 15

One of McClure's top Red Sox vs. Astros MLB DFS picks for Friday is Astros third baseman Alex Bregman. The White Sox couldn't keep Bregman off the base paths in the ALDS as he collected hits in all four games and posted a .375 average for the series. Bregman also contributed four RBI and had a double in his last game on Tuesday.

Bregman missed a good chunk of the season due to injuries, but he carved up left-handed pitching when he was on the field. His OPS was 95 points higher versus southpaws like Sale than against right-handed pitchers. He also battered Boston pitching as a whole as Bregman posted a .321/.406/.536 split against the Red Sox in 28 at-bats. Bregman has lots going for him against the Red Sox starter and their bullpen, so you can see why McClure is high on him.

Another key in McClure's optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Red Sox outfielder Enrique Hernandez who is leading the postseason with a 1.266 OPS (min. two games). Hernandez also leads all players in total bases (19), home runs (two) and doubles (three).

During his time with the Dodgers, Hernandez proved himself to be a clutch performer and he's just validating that with his performance this year. Hernandez has 10 career playoff homers and his postseason OPS is 132 points higher than his regular-season OPS. He also will have a matchup to exploit on Friday as he's 3-for-11 (.273) in his career vs. Valdez with a home run.
