MLB reduces Gary Sanchez's suspension, but he'll still miss an important series

The Yankees catcher was originally suspended for four games. He'll now sit out three

New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez, originally suspended for four games for his role in a benches-clearing brawl against the Detroit Tigers, has seen his suspension reduced to three games.

Sanchez, in turn, will begin serving his banishment on Tuesday:

Sanchez enters his suspension having hit .276/.344/.527 with 28 home runs in 103 games. He'll miss a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles that could prove costly -- the Yankees enter the series just 3 1/2 games up on the Orioles for a playoff spot.
