ROSTER MOVES & TRANSACTIONS
Cleveland Indians : Acquired LHP Nick Maronde from the Los Angeles Angels for cash. He had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. (Orange County Register)
Minnesota Twins : Released LHP Scott Diamond from their Triple-A affiliate. (Pioneer Press)
RUMORS & SPECULATION
Los Angeles Dodgers : GM Ned Colletti said he doesn't "see us doing anything that’s going to tear apart the farm system" at the trade deadline. (Los Angeles Times)
Seattle Mariners : Likely to try to acquire a right-handed hitting outfielder and are scouting Marlon Byrd of the Philadelphia Phillies . (Jon Heyman)
Phillies: GM Ruben Amaro is "still assessing" his options leading up the trade deadline. They could become sellers. (Jon Heyman)
Angels: OF Collin Cowgill received stitches after being hit by a pitch in the nose. He was taken to the hospital for more tests and is unlikely to be available for Sunday's game. (Orange County Register)
Houston Astros : OF Dexter Fowler (intercostal) is expected to be activated off the disabled list immediately after the All-Star break. (MLB.com)
Oakland Athletics : IF Alberto Callaspo was placed on the 15-day DL with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain. He could be out longer than the minimum 15 days. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Toronto Blue Jays : Placed OF Nolan Reimold on the 15-day DL with a calf strain, the team announced.
Indians: OF Chris Dickerson is day-to-day with a hamstring problem. (Cleveland Plain-Dealer)
San Francisco Giants : Manager Bruce Bochy said there is still no timetable for OF Angel Pagan (back) to return to the lineup. He has yet to resume full baseball activities. (Bay Area News Group)
Mariners: LHP James Paxton (shoulder) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday. (MLB.com)
Washington Nationals : RHP Jordan Zimmermann has a biceps strain according to Saturday's MRI. There is no structural damage and the team is hopeful he can avoid the disabled list. (Nationals Insider)
Phillies: OF Domonic Brown was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to illness. He did pinch-hit, however.
Tampa Bay Rays : C Ryan Hanigan is day-to-day with an issue with his side. (Tampa Bay Times)
Colorado Rockies : LHP Brett Anderson (finger) is expected to be activated off the disabled list and start on Sunday. (Pioneer Press)
Detroit Tigers : DH Victor Martinez (oblique) is expected to return to the lineup immediately following the All-Star break. (MLive.com)
Chicago White Sox : SS Alexei Ramirez exited Saturday's game with back stiffness and is day-to-day, the team announced ... OF Adam Eaton (wrist, ankle) is dealing with soreness and is not expected to return until after the All-Star break (Chicago Sun-Times) ... RHP Matt Lindstrom (ankle) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session and could begin a minor league rehab assignment with two weeks, the club announced.
Milwaukee Brewers : SS Jean Segura has left the team and returned home to the Dominican Republic following the death of his 9-month-old son.
New York Yankees : SS Derek Jeter 's first children's book, entitled The Contract, is now available for pre-order.
