ROSTER MOVES & TRANSACTIONS

Athletics: Designated LHP Brad Mills for assignment, the team announced. He lost his rotation spot following the team's big trade with the Cubs over the weekend ... claimed OF Kenny Wilson off waivers from the Blue Jays, the club announced.

Brewers: Acquired approximately $339,000 in international spending pool money from the Athletics for minor league RHP Rodolfo Fernandez, the team announced.

Dodgers: Signed OF Roger Bernadina to a minor league contract. (MLB Daily Dish)

Indians: Acquired OF Chris Dickerson from the Pirates for a player to be named later or cash, the team announced. C George Kottaras was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Mariners: Designated C John Buck for assignment, the club announced.

Rangers: Designated UTIL Donnie Murphy for assignment and optioned OF Michael Choice to Triple-A, the team announced. RHP Roman Mendez and OF Jake Smolinski were called up in corresponding moves.

Rockies: OF Michael Cuddyer is open to signing an extension, though the two sides have not had any talks. (Denver Post)

All-Star Game: Mariners 3B Kyle Seager will replace Encarnacion on the AL roster.

Home Run Derby: Both Angels OF Mike Trout and Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera declined invitations to the Home Run Derby.

Cubs: RHP Dallas Beeler and RHP Kyle Hendricks will be called up to make their MLB debuts on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. They will replace the traded Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel in the rotation. (MLB.com)
