- Angels: Have placed LHP Tyler Skaggs on the DL with a strained right hamstring. LHP Hector Santiago has been recalled to take Skaggs's place on the active roster and in the rotation. 

- Orioles: The injured right elbow of C Matt Wieters isn't healing as quickly as anticipated, and he'll soon visit Dr. James Andrews to get it checked out. 

- Rangers: The team has decided that LHP Derek Holland (knee) isn't yet ready to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. (Travis L. Brown, ESPN Dallas) ... 1B Mitch Moreland will receive a second opinion on his injured left ankle and might not undergo season-ending surgery, as was the initial plan. - Red Sox: SS Stephen Drew is day-to-day with an oblique injury ... RHP Clay Buchholz (knee) is slated to begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Friday. (Peter Abraham via Twitter)

- Rockies: OF Michael Cuddyer says he has a fracture in his left shoulder and that there's no clear time-table for his return ... OF Carlos Gonzalez, who's been on the DL since last Friday, will soon undergo exploratory surgery on the inflamed finger on his left hand ... RHP Eddie Butler has been placed on the DL with a rotator cuff issue. The highly regarded 23-year-old is only one start into his MLB career. 


- Diamondbacks: Have designated RHP Trevor Cahill for assignment even though he has roughly $17 million left on his contract. 

- Twins: Signed top draft pick SS Nick Gordon to a bonus worth $3.185 million ... DH Kendrys Morales made his Twins debut on Monday night and went 1-for-3 with a walk in the loss to the Blue Jays.
