Nationals' Jayson Werth unlikely to come off DL on Saturday
Nats outfielder Jayson Werth's injured hamstring has been further examined by team doctors, and he likely won't be activated right away.
Jayson Werth's expected return from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday will likely be delayed by at least a few days. Amanda Comak of the Washington Times reports that Werth was examined by team doctors after feeling tightness in his injured right hamstring. A Nationals spokesman confirmed to Comak that Werth likely won't be ready to be activated this weekend. Werth is currently on a minor-league rehab assignment.
This season, the 34-year-old veteran is batting .260/.308/.400 with four homers in 27 games. He's been sidelined since May 2. Fortunately for the Nats, they have outfield depth, what with Bryce Harper, Denard Span, Tyler Moore and Roger Bernadina on the active roster.
