The Orioles will be without infielder Paul Janish for six-to-eight weeks after undergoing a surgical procedure, president of baseball operations Dan Duquette told reporters Thursday.

Via CSNBaltimore.com, Janish needed to have some bone chips removed from his right elbow.

Janish spent 2014 in the minors with affiliates of the Royals and Rockies. He hit .268 in 113 games played. His last major-league appearance was in 2013 with the Braves.
