White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko, who hasn't played since Aug. 7 because of post-concussion symptoms, is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday against the Royals.
ESPN Chicago reports that Konerko, who's been on the 7-day concussion DL, was able to resume baseball activities on Tuesday. He's expected to serve as DH for the entirety of the weekend series in Kansas City.
Konerko initially sustained the injury against those same Royals, when outfielder Jarrod Dyson inadvertently elbowed him in the head.
This season, the 36-year-old Konerko is batting .316/.388/.504 with 18 home runs.
