The Padres intend to active outfielder Carlos Quentin from the disabled list on Tuesday prior to their game against the Reds in Cincinnati, tweets Darren Smith.

Quentin hasn't played at the major-league level since injuring his right knee on July 30 of last year -- an injury that eventually required surgery. Quentin's coming off a 2013 season in which he batted .275/.363/.493 with 13 homers in 82 games. For his career, Quentin owns a productive OPS+ of 122, but just twice in eight seasons has he played at least 130 games.

Quentin is owed $9.5 million this season and $8 million for 2015, and his contract includes a mutual $10-million option for 2016.
