Roy Oswalt learned of demotion to bullpen from media
Upon acquiring Ryan Dempster just before the trade deadline, the Rangers announced they had demoted Roy Oswalt to the bullpen. Oswalt didn't find out until a member of the media asked him about it.
The Roy Oswalt era in Texas is off to a less-than-stellar beginning. After being shelled by the Angels earlier this week, Oswalt's ERA now sits at 6.49. He's also given up an absurd 54 hits in 34 2/3 innings (14 H/9). Now, with the Rangers' deadline acquisition of Ryan Dempster, Oswalt has been demoted to the bullpen.
And he didn't even know about it until a media member told him. Check it out:

Ouch. Rough week for Roy. Then again, he and his family have about five million reasons to not regret the comeback.
