Twins pitcher Ervin Santana reported to extended spring training last week in Fort Myers, Fla., according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Santana, who is currently serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for steroids, is eligible for return on July 4 and is using the time to get his body in shape. Santana has throw a couple of bullpen sessions and is expected to throw live batting practice next week, according to MLB.com.He will throw extended spring training before heading to Triple-A Rochester for preparation.

General manager Terry Ryan doesn't believe Santana will need more than three rehab starts to get back with the team. Santana posted a 14-10 record with a 3.95 ERA in 196 innings in 2014.
