On Saturday night against the Astros (GameTracker), Red Sox DH/warrior-poet David Ortiz hit his 400th home run as a member of those same Red Sox. Let's have a look ...

Ortiz once upon a time was a Twins cast-off, and on their watch he hit 58 home runs. So that's 458 total, which means he's still in 36th place on the all-time list (now one behind Adam Dunn).

In hitting the quadruple shown above, Ortiz became just the third player to hit 400 or more homers as a member of the Sox. Ted Williams leads all comers with 521 homers on Boston's watch, and then there's fellow Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski with 452.
