VIDEO: Gregory Polanco's first career HR is a game-winner in extra innings
Pirates youngster Gregory Polanco capped off a five-hit day with his first career homer, a game-winning blast in extra innings.
The Pirates called up outfielder and top prospect Gregory Polanco less than a week ago, and it didn't take long for him to make an impact. He recorded his first career five-hit game on Friday night, capping it off with his first career home run.
It wasn't just any ol' homer though. It was a go-ahead two-run homer in the 13th inning, which ultimately proved to be the game-winner. To the action footage:
Off a tough lefty in Mike Dunn too. Impressive.
As for the baseball, yes, Polanco did get it back, because people in Miami are cool:
Best thing ever. Fan gives Polanco's first HR back to him with toss on the field when he came out to play right. Love that. #Pirates— David Todd (@DTonPirates) June 14, 2014
