The Rangers beat the Athletics 4-3 Thursday afternoon to take three of four in the series and get back to within one game in the AL West.

What the score or box score won't tell you is how the game ended -- namely how close the A's were to tying the game in the top of the ninth:

That's an outstanding throw by Elvis Andrus under the circumstances and definitely don't ignore the perfect swipe tag by veteran backstop A.J. Pierzynski.

The Rangers entered the series with a six-game losing streak, so it appears they've righted the ship. Meanwhile, the A's have lost five of seven.
