VIDEO: The mutual respect of Mike Trout, Manny Machado

This just in: Orioles third baseman Manny Machado and Angels outfielder Mike Trout are way too good at baseball considering their respective ages (Machado turns 21 in July; Trout turns 22 in August).

And it appears they have some sort of mutual respect thing going on.

Check out Machado's sparkling defensive play that robbed Trout of a leadoff single Wednesday afternoon in Baltimore:

Specifically, check out the exchange of looks at around the 15-second mark.

Trout looked back with a bit of a smile in Machado's direction twice, and it appears Machado noticed and broke out a big grin of its own.

Gotta love the respectful competitive spirit in both of these young men. It's great for the game of baseball and for all of us, because we get to watch them play for over a decade.
