Video: Yankees broadcaster's microphone hit by foul ball
A foul ball hit John Sterling's microphone during Monday's Yankees-Rays game. Sterling, and the microphone, were unharmed.
Yankees announcer John Sterling isn't everyone's cup of tea, but we're glad he was unhurt by a foul ball that made its way into the broadcast booth at Tropicana Field on Monday.
MLB.com has the video:
Anyone who has ever sat in a press box knows that often you have to be just as aware of foul balls in the press box as you are in the stands. Every time I get up from my seat in a press box, I make sure to fold up my laptop, because I'm not sure it would survive as well as Sterling's microphone.
