Not long ago, retired Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully learned that he would be one of 21 luminaries to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom this year. On Tuesday, Scully was at the White House along with notable fellow honorees like Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Redford, Tom Hanks, and Diana Ross.

Scully of course retired at the end the 2016 season after 67 years as Dodgers broadcaster. He continues to lead a life well-lived, and even in retirement he's more than capable of brightening our days.
