White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija strikes out seven in no-decision
On Saturday, White Sox starter Jeff Samardzija had his best outing since May 27. The right-hander limited the Rays to three runs on six hits over seven innings, while walking one and striking out seven in a no-decision.
Samardzija gave up individual runs in the first, third and seventh innings, but his offense was able to get him off the hook.
He had given up 15 earned runs in 12 1/3 innings over his previous two starts, so this was a big bounceback for Samardzija.
He'll look to build on this start his next time out, scheduled for Thursday at home against the Pirates.
