Wife of Padres' Yangervis Solarte dies of cancer at age 31

Yuliett Pimentel Solarte, the wife of Padres third baseman Yangervis Solarte, has died from cancer at the age of 31. She leaves behind her husband and three young daughters. Yangervis Solarte recently shared the news via Instagram:

The caption above roughly translates as:

How difficult it is to know that you will no longer be by my side because of things that happen in life But I do know one thing you showed me to see life from another point of view and I want you to know that wherever you are I will love you always I love you May God watch over you I know will for us I love you Yuliett Pimentel

As Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune notes, Yuliett Solarte died during the day Friday, and Padres manager Andy Green informed the team that night. Lin also writes that Solarte left the team for a few days in July to be with his wife as she battled the disease.
