A 5-year-old boy and a woman drowned at a Houston home that property and business records list as belonging to former MLB outfielder Carl Crawford, the Houston Chronicle reports. Houston police were called for a reported drowning about 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva told the Chronicle that the boy was swimming in the pool when he began struggling to breathe. The woman attempted to save the boy but also drowned. The woman and boy were both unresponsive when taken by ambulance and later declared dead at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital, Silva told the Chronicle.

No further details have been released.

Crawford, 38, retired from MLB following the 2016 season. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox throughout his 15-year MLB career. In retirement, Crawford founded a music label company, 1501 Certified Entertainment, in his hometown of Houston.
