Yasiel Puig back in Dodgers' lineup for Friday night
Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig hasn't made a start since last Saturday because of thumb injury, but he's a go for the Dodgers on Friday night.
Dodgers outfielder/human wedge issue Yasiel Puig has been limited to a single plate appearance since April 5 after he strained a ligament in his left thumb while sliding into first base. For Friday night, though, he's back in the Dodger lineup as they take on Brandon McCarthy and the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Puig will be manning his familiar position of right field and batting second.
As MLB.com's Ken Gurnick notes, Puig took early batting practice on Friday and also performed outfield drills. Gurnick observes that Puig looked "tentative" when handling liners.
On the young season, Puig is batting .240/.321/.400 with one homer in 29 plate appearances.
