(That gap is now 2 1/2.) Meanwhile, their lead over Atlanta is 4 1/2 games. Earliest potential postseason clinch date: Friday.

Tatis, as he sprinted from right to back up the overthrow, and Merrill, as he sprinted from center to cover the vacated bag at second. Neither really ended up mattering. But, hey, little things 👍
