Daniel Robertson: Moves to independent league
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of reports.

Robertson was with the Diamondbacks on a minor-league deal this season but couldn't earn a callup. The 32-year-old has appeared in 148 career major-league games, hitting a modest .262/.314/.328 with just one home run.

Diamondbacks' Daniel Robertson: Signs minor-league deal with Arizona
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson signed a minor-league deal with the Diamondacks on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.

Robertson has earned brief stints in the majors in each of the last four seasons, each with a diferent organization. The 32-year-old journeyman owns a .262/.314/.328 career slash line in 386 plate appearances. He doesn't look to be anything other than organizational depth for the Diamondbacks.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Designated for assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Indians designated Robertson (hamstring) for assignment Thursday.

He became expendable when the Tribe acquired Jay Bruce on Wednesday and needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Robertson was on the Triple-A Columbus disabled list with hamstring issues and could remain there if he clears waivers.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Lands on DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was placed on the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Columbus with left hamstring soreness.

The 31-year-old slashed .225/.287/.338 over 32 games with the Tribe this season, but was sent back to Triple-A once Brandon Guyer (wrist) and Michael Brantley (ankle) returned from the DL. Robertson has enjoyed a great year with the Clippers, though, hitting .340 while scoring 24 runs and swiping seven bases through 43 contests. He'll return to providing organizational depth once his hamstring recovers.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Sent back to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

With Brandon Guyer (wrist) and Michael Brantley (ankle) both returning from the disabled list, Robertson was no longer needed. The 31-year-old will head back to Columbus, where he'll continue to serve as organizational outfield depth.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Picks up fifth consecutive start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson will start in left field and bat ninth Sunday against the Twins, Jordan Bastian of reports.

With the Indians facing a spate of left-handed pitching of late and Michael Brantley on the paternity list, Robertson will earn his fifth straight start. Robertson has recorded just two hits in 18 at-bats over the last four contests, which won't give him much of a case to hold down anything more than the short end of a platoon in the outfield once Brantley returns.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Smacks first MLB home run
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson went 2-for-4 with his first major-league home run, a three-run shot, and scored twice in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

It took 351 career plate appearances spread out over four organizations before Robertson finally cleared a big-league fence. The outfielder has been more than serviceable since being recalled in mid-May. Through 21 games, Robertson is slashing .286/.340/.469 with just two strikeouts in 49 at-bats.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Will man leadoff spot Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson will start in right field and lead off Sunday against the White Sox, Jordan Bastian of reports.

With the White Sox bringing a lefty starter (Jose Quintana) to the hill for the second straight game, Robertson will once again enter the lineup in place of Lonnie Chisenhall, but he'll move up from the No. 9 spot all the way to the top of the order with normal table setter Jason Kipnis joining Chisenhall on the bench. The move to the leadoff spot will give Robertson more appeal in DFS contests, but the ceiling is still somewhat limited for the career .272/.322/.332 hitter.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Drives in three in Sunday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 8-0 win over Kansas City.

Robertson drilled a two-run double to right in the second inning and added an RBI single to center in the fourth. The offensive outburst came out of nowhere, as Robertson had just one RBI in 33 at-bats before Sunday. Don't count on too many games of production like that -- the 31-year-old Robertson has only 33 RBI in 131 career games.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Batting second Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson will start in left field and bat second Sunday against the Royals, Paul Hoynes of reports.

Injuries to the Indians outfield have opened up regular playing time for Robertson over the last couple of weeks, but he hasn't been able to do much with the opportunity, slashing .212/.297/.303 since his mid-May promotion to the big leagues. With Lonnie Chisenhall (concussion) on track to return from the disabled list ahead of Tuesday's series opener with the Rockies, Robertson could settle back into a bench role before long.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Not in Monday's lineup
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson is out of the lineup Monday against the Athletics.

Robertson drew his fifth consecutive start in Sunday afternoon's matchup against the Royals, but he'll head to the bench for the opener of a four-game set against the A's. Cleveland manager Terry Francona will instead use an outfield composed of Michael Brantley (left), Bradley Zimmer (center) and Austin Jackson (right).

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Receiving fifth straight start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson will start in right field and bat second Sunday against the Royals.

With the Indians holding out Bradley Zimmer against Royals lefty Danny Duffy and Lonnie Chisenhall (concussion) still sidelined, Robertson will pick up his fifth consecutive start. Robertson has occupied a spot in the bottom third of the order in the previous four contests, but with normal No. 2 hitter Francisco Lindor also receiving Sunday off for rest, Indians manager Terry Francona will see what Robertson can do in a more prominent lineup spot.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Late replacement Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was a late addition to the lineup Wednesday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. He'll bat ninth and play right field.

Lonnie Chisenhall (head) was a late scratch from Wednesday's contest, so Robertson will hop into action to fill his void. It's unclear how severe Chisenhall's ailment is, but if he's forced to miss extended time, Robertson seems like the main beneficiary for playing time in right field at this time.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: Recalled from minors, will start Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was recalled from Triple-A Columbus and will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Twins, Zack Meisel of reports.

With Abraham Almonte receiving the day off with lefty Hector Santiago on the hill, Robertson will immediately get a look with the big club after going 7-for-20 at the dish in his four games with Columbus. The 31-year-old Robertson isn't expected to see regular action while he's with the Tribe, but will help fortify the team's outfield depth and offer another right-handed option off the bench.

Indians' Daniel Robertson: On minor-league DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson (hamstring) is on the 7-day DL at Triple-A Columbus.

He left a spring game in late March wth a hamstring injury, and the issue is still lingering. At 31 years old, the journeyman offers very little fantasy intrigue.

Indians' Dan Robertson: Leaves game with apparent injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson left Tuesday's game with an apparent hamstring injury, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Robertson recorded his third hit of the day and it would have been a bases-clearing triple, but he pulled up on the basepaths. He then slammed his helmet in frustration, which suggests it could be a strain or perhaps worse. He wasn't in the running for an Opening Day roster spot, regardless.

Mariners' Dan Robertson: Designated for assignment Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday.

In order to make room for Friday's starting pitcher against the A's, Seattle DFA'd Robertson in a corresponding move. Robertson spent two weeks with the Mariners in July, going 5-for-19 from the plate during nine games of action. The 30-year-old has had a decent season with Tacoma, but is seen as expendable by the organization.

Mariners' Dan Robertson: Headed to Tacoma
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Robertson was promoted just before the All-Star break and appeared in nine games, logging 19 at-bats and recording five hits, including one double. The 30-year-old will return to Triple-A as the Mariners bring up veteran outfielder Nori Aoki to take his place.

Mariners' Dan Robertson: Hits double, RBI single in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson, in his second start since his callup earlier this week, doubled and hit a run-scoring single Thursday in a loss at Kansas City.

The Mariners had been carrying 13 pitchers but wanted to get their position players more rest, so Robertson got the call. He played 107 games with the Angels in 2014-15. Robertson will get a start here and there to give outfielders rest, but probably won't get too many at-bats. If the Mariners choose to add another pitcher again or if Nori Aoki is recalled, Robertson likely will be sent to Triple-A over utilityman Shawn O'Malley, who plays infield and outfield.

Mariners' Dan Robertson: Promoted to big leagues
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Robertson was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Greg Johns of reports.

The 30-year-old didn't exactly kick the door down at Tacoma, batting .262/.327/.391 in 73 games this season, but he can help out at all three outfield positions and play second base in a pinch. He's starting in left field Tuesday against Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel. While Robertson put up some decent stolen-base totals early in his minor league career and has seven steals this year, it's hard to imagine he'll see the field enough to contribute much in any category.
