Rays' Cody Hall: Inks deal with Rays
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall signed a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with Tampa Bay on Friday, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.

Hall appeared in 25 games with Double-A Richmond in the Giants' system in 2017, posting a 2.79 ERA and 40:12 K:BB over 29 relief innings. The soon-to-be 30-year-old has only pitched in nine major-league games in his professional career, with the latest coming in 2016 with the Marlins. Although Hall will likely begin the season in Triple-A, the right-hander could find his way to the big leagues if he's able to replicate his form from last year.

Cody Hall: Released by Marlins
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was released by the Marlins on Sunday, Joe Frisaro of reports.

Hall hasn't pitched since June 29, and he'd struggled between the MLB and Triple-A before then. After playing with Triple-A Reno and Triple-A New Orleans, Hall owns a hefty 6.50 ERA and 1.78 WHIP. Batters enjoyed a .321 batting average with Hall on the mound, and his lack of control (K:BB of 14:7) hadn't done him any favors. If he gets signed by a club, he'll simply provide extra depth to the bullpen and will likely see little, if any, time in The Show.

Marlins' Cody Hall: Sent to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Hall struggled in his only two appearances over the weekend, allowing four earned runs on four hits and three walks over three innings. Since that won't get the job done, the Marlins will try another option for right-handed bullpen depth, calling up Brian Ellington in a corresponding move.

Marlins' Cody Hall: Recalled Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday, Joe Frisaro of reports.

Since being claimed off waivers by the Marlins, Hall has yet to give up an earned run through four relief appearances in Triple-A. He will now join the Marlins bullpen and Jose Urena will be optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Marlins' Cody Hall: Claimed off waivers by Marlins
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was claimed off waivers by the Marlins on Wednesday and was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, Joe Frisaro of reports.

Hall has been limited to pitching with Triple-A Reno this year and has disappointed -- accumulating a 7.98 ERA over 14.2 innings along with a .348 OBA. The 28-year-old has experienced success in the past, however, as he's logged a career 2.91 ERA in the minors over 269 innings in relief. Perhaps a change of scenery from Reno to New Orleans can turn the righty's luck around as he continues to establish his minor league resume.

Diamondbacks' Cody Hall: Designated for assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

A series of roster moves ultimately led to Hall getting DFA'd, starting with the placement of David Peralta (wrist) on the disabled list. To provide outfield depth in his absence, the Diamondbacks recalled Michael Bourn from Double-A Mobile, and a spot on the 40-man roster was needed. That spot came at Hall's expense, despite the fact that the reliever hasn't tossed a single inning in the majors this season.

Diamondbacks' Cody Hall: Optioned to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Hall was thought to have an outside chance to make the Opening Day roster, but it's certainly not a surprise that he'll begin the year at the Triple-A level. The 28-year-old, who was dealt to Arizona in January, posted a 3.46 ERA across 43 appearances at Triple-A Sacramento last season as a member of the Giants organization.

Diamondbacks' Cody Hall: Dealt to Diamondbacks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hall was traded to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 28-year-old posted a 3.46 ERA in 43 games at Triple-A Sacramento last season, while struggling (6.48 ERA) through seven big league appearances. Hall was designated for assignment last week to clear a roster spot after the Giants signed Denard Span to a three-year, $31 million contract. The right-hander has a chance to crack Arizona's Opening Day roster, but he could again begin the year at Triple-A.
