Dodgers' Terrance Gore: Could benefit from expanded rosters
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore has a chance to make the big-league squad if the 2020 season takes place with expanded rosters, Pedro Moura of The Athletic reports.

The Dodgers signed Gore to a minor-league contract in February, and the veteran was initially considered an extreme longshot to break camp with the club. However, the possibility of expanded rosters could make room for a specialist such as Gore, who has stolen 40 bases in 100 career games. Given Gore's struggles at the plate -- he owns a career .224 batting average -- and the Dodgers' outfield depth, he would likely be used almost exclusively off the bench if he does make the team.

Dodgers' Terrance Gore: Invited to Dodgers' camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Monday as a non-roster invitee, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Gore appeared in 37 major-league games for the Royals in 2019 prior to being traded to the Yankees and spending the remainder of the season at the Triple-A level. The 28-year-old has been unimpressive at the plate over his career, but he's been a valuable baserunner, as demonstrated when he logged 13 stolen bases in his limited time with the Royals last season. Given his struggles at the plate, it's unlikely that Gore will begin the season on the major-league roster, but he could benefit from time with the major-league coaching staff.

Yankees' Terrance Gore: Sent to Yankees
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was traded from the Royals to the Yankees on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Gore, who was designated for assignment by the Royals last week, will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after being dealt to New York. The speedster could join the Yankees later in the season as a pinch-running option, though he'll need to be added to the team's 40-man roster first.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Removed from 40-man roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was designated for assignment by the Royals on Friday, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Gore had only six starts since the start of June and 13 starts all season, so he was DFA'd to make room on the 40-man roster for the promotion of Bubba Starling. Gore had a .275/.362/.353 slash line with 13 stolen bases in 37 games this season, though he totaled only 58 plate appearances.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Draws rare start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore will start in left field and bat ninth Thursday against the Indians.

With Alex Gordon getting a day out of the field and occupying the designated hitter spot, Gore will enter the outfield for his first start since June 21. Despite only appearing in five games during the last two weeks, Gore has managed to rack up four steals as a pinch-running specialist.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Not seeing much work
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.

Gore has made just eight starts all season and only four since the beginning of May. The 27-year-old possesses elite speed but lacks the power or contact skills to consistently provide an impact at the plate, making it unlikely that he takes on an everyday role at any point this season.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Picks up fourth start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore will start in right field and bat eighth Wednesday against the Rays.

The Royals will go speed-heavy at the bottom of the order with Billy Hamilton to follow Gore as the No. 9 hitter. Gore is picking up just his fourth start of the season, but he's already collected four steals in six attempts thanks to manager Ned Yost's willingness to frequently use him as a pinch-running specialist.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Runs wild in rare start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Mariners.

Making his first start of the season and playing left field, Gore hit ninth but was arguably the Royals' most dangerous player, collecting his first extra-base hits in a big-league career that's seen him pigeon-holed as a pinch runner. The 27-year-old's minor-league numbers don't suggest he'll keep it up, though, and with Alex Gordon off to a strong start at the plate, opportunities for Gore to show what he can do at the plate will likely remain limited.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Starting Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore is in the lineup Wednesday and will start in left field while batting ninth.

The outfielder will make his first start of the season Wednesday against the Mariners with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound. Gore, known primarily for his speed, will cover left field for the resting Alex Gordon. In limited action this year, he's 1-for-1 with a steal.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Sits again Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore will sit again in Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Gore made the major-league roster after spring training, but will primarily serve as the last outfield reserve and a late-game pinch runner. The 27-year-old is known primarily for his speed, stealing six bases with only five at bats last year for the Cubs. He should remain primarily in the pinch runner role unless several outfielders go down.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Returns to Kansas City
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore signed a major-league contract with the Royals on Tuesday.

Gore is set to rejoin the Royals, the team that drafted him back in 2011, after finishing off the 2018 campaign with the Cubs. The 27-year-old has primarily served as a pinch runner at the major-league level, racking up more steals (27) than plate appearances (19) across parts of five major-league seasons (63 games).

Cubs' Terrance Gore: Cast off 40-man roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was outrighted from the Cubs' 40-man roster Friday, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Gore was basically exclusively utilized as a pinch runner for the Cubs since being called up to the major-league team once rosters expanded in September. Unsurprisingly, he was removed from the 40-man roster in order to allow Chicago to protect one of its younger prospects from the Rule 5 draft.

Cubs' Terrance Gore: Up with Cubs for September
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore's contract was selected from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday.

Owners desperate for every last steal could consider Gore, but he's very unlikely to have much fantasy value in any other category. He's the purest pinch-running specialist in the game right now, with 21 steals and just 14 plate appearances (and zero hits) in 49 career games.

Cubs' Terrance Gore: Dealt to Cubs on Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was traded from the Royals to the Cubs in exchange for cash considerations Wednesday.

Gore has only appeared sporadically in 49 major-league games over his professional career, all coming in Kansas City over the past five seasons. Though he doesn't provide much impact offensively, Gore has plenty of speed and could be utilized as a key pinch-running specialist for the Cubs during the homestretch of the 2018 season. He will likely report to Triple-A Iowa initially upon arrival.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Sent to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was sent to minor-league camp Monday, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.

Gore went 2-for-9 with three RBI and one stolen base in 10 spring training games prior to being reassigned to minor-league camp. He figures to begin the season with Triple-A Omaha.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Returns to Royals on minors deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Friday.

Hours after being non-tendered, Gore put pen to paper, formally agreeing to return to the organization. Gore has one home run in seven minor-league seasons and he rarely gets on base, but he has great speed. Chances are, Gore will at least be up in September again to pinch run.

Terrance Gore: Non-tendered by Royals
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Royals declined to tender Gore a contract for 2018.

With that, Gore is now a free agent. He played in the majors in each of the last four seasons but never appeared in more than 17 games with Kansas City. Gore is mostly a one-dimensional player, with very little to offer at the plate in terms of hitting or on-base skills to complement his speed. He should at least get a spring invite from another club, but it's hard to imagine Gore will be able to carve out a significant role in 2018.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Notches first steal of 2017
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore entered as a pinch runner and stole his first base of the season in the eighth inning of Wednesday game against the White Sox.

The speedy outfielder has yet to make a start since being recalled on Sept. 1 as part of roster expansions. It's unlikely he'll be penciled into the lineup as long as Kansas City is still in the playoff hunt, but Gore's speed is worthy of attention in daily formats if he does earn a start at some point.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Recalled from Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Gore will make his customary September trip up to the majors, where his elite speed is an asset when he is deployed as a pinch runner. He could steal a half dozen bases this month, even without any starts, but don't expect him to see many plate appearances.

Royals' Terrance Gore: Ticketed for minor leagues
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gore will be optioned to Triple-A Omaha when Melky Cabrera joins the team in Baltimore on Monday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

During his three-game cup of coffee in Kansas City, Gore didn't log a plate appearance and was caught stealing in his lone attempt on the base paths. He'll head back to the minors for more seasoning, although he could be back in the majors soon given his game-changing speed off the bench.
