Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Turning things around in May
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph is hitting better since the start of May, The Athletic Philadelphia reports.

After a very poor April, Randolph is starting to put things together at Double-A Reading in May. In the season's second month, he's 8-for-26 with a .379 OBP and a .764 OPS. His slash line still sits at a miserable .196/.257/.272 through 26 games, but it's certainly not unheard of for a player to struggle in his first taste of Double-A -- especially one as young as Randolph, who doesn't turn 21 until June. The young outfielder has a long way to go before he lives up to his pedigree as the 10th overall pick in the 2015 draft, but his chances at least look better now than they did a few weeks ago.

Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Poor showing in first month at Double-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph is off to a slow start in his first taste of Double-A ball, The Athletic Philadelphia reports.

The 10th overall pick in the 2015 draft, Randolph has steadily moved up the levels despite not excelling at any one stop. In 122 games for High-A Clearwater last season, he posted a .250/.338/.402 line, good for a solid 118 wRC+. In 17 games for Double-A Reading this year, his line sits at just .159/.206/.238, which translates to a measly 29 wRC+. He can partially blame a low .209 BABIP, but he's also striking out 29.4 percent of the time with a walk rate of just 4.4 percent. Despite his draft pedigree, Randolph looks like little more than a bench bat. He'll have to turn things around in Reading or else even that outcome will seem unlikely.

Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Will play in Arizona Fall League
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph will play in the Arizona Fall League this year, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Randolph, 20, is hitting .248/.337/.398 with 13 home runs and seven stolen bases in 432 at-bats for High-A Clearwater this season. The numbers aren't overwhelming, but they are solid given Randolph's age and limited number of at-bats in the lower levels of the Phillies' farm system. The 2015 first-round pick could open next season at Double-A if he has a strong showing in the AFL this offseason.

Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Adequate season at High-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph, 20, is hitting .258/.348/.405 with 12 home runs, 52 RBI and seven steals through 110 games for High-A Clearwater.

Randolph's first full season in the minors resulted in decent power and patience at the dish, though not quite enough contact. He has been punched out 112 times in those 110 games. The first round pick was aggressively pushed to High-A this season, though, so his average statistics should be taken with a grain of salt.

Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Finally showing some power
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph is hitting .276/.364/.621 with three home runs in his first seven games at High-A Clearwater.

The Phillies gave Randolph a promotion to High-A Clearwater despite the fact that he wasn't all that productive last year at Low-A Lakewood. The 2015 first-round pick did miss significant time with a shoulder injury last year, which could be partly to blame for his mediocre numbers. His three home runs this season already tie his career total in the minors. The Phillies still love his bat and think he'll develop into a solid hitter. If Randolph continues to hit for power he will put himself back onto the radar as a prospect to watch.

Phillies' Cornelius Randolph: Placed on minor league DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Randolph was placed on the minor league DL Tuesday with a left shoulder strain, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Breen reports.

The 18-year-old outfielder was hitting .240 with one home run and three steals in 12 games for Low-A Lakewood prior to the injury. Considering how far away he is from the major leagues, this hardly affects his value in dynasty leagues.
