by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.

Musgrave went unclaimed after amassing a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings at the big-league level this season. He owns an awful 9.98 ERA in 15.1 frames for Albuquerque.

Musgrave was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Wednesday.

Musgrave was removed from Colorado's 40-man roster to free up a spot for Joe Harvey, who was acquired from the Yankees on Wednesday. The lefty made 10 appearances with the Rockies prior to being designated for assignment, posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB in 10 innings.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Activated and optioned
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave (elbow) was activated off the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Musgrave spent the first part of the season in the big leagues, posting a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings prior to straining his left elbow flexor in early May. He should have a shot to return to Colorado next time the Rockies need another reliever. Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list to clear up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Shifts to 60-day IL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Thomas Harding of reports.

This move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Thursday's starter, Peter Lambert, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Albuquerque. Musgrave, who first landed on the IL with a left elbow flexor strain May 4, won't be eligible to return until July 3 at the earliest following this latest transaction.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Moves rehab to spring facility
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave (elbow) will report to the Rockies' spring training facility in Salt River on Sunday to continue his rehab, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Musgrave was put on the 10-day injured list May 4 with a left elbow flexor strain and will head to Salt River, hopefully to establish a timetable for a return during the Rockies' upcoming east coast road trip. The left-hander had given up four earned runs in 10 relief appearances prior to the injury.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave hit the 10-day injured list with a left elbow flexor strain Saturday.

Musgrave posted a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings prior to suffering the injury. It's not yet clear when he's expected to return. D.J. Johnson will take his place on the roster.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Enters 2019 as reliever
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave is being considered a full-time reliever this season, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Musgrave nearly broke camp in the Rockies' rotation back in 2017, but wound up waiting to make his major-league debut until 2018 as a reliever. After displaying some success in the majors -- especially against lefties (.217 BAA in 2018) -- the left-hander is vying for a spot in the bullpen as a long reliever. Having him and Chris Rusin in the bullpen is a bit redundant, however, so there's a good chance Musgrave begins the season back with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Called up Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave was called up by Colorado on Saturday.

Musgrave tossed 33.2 innings of relief for the Rockies earlier in the season, recording a 5.08 ERA and an unimpressive 23:17 K:BB. He'll serve as low-leverage depth for the team's playoff push.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Optioned to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave was sent down to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Thomas Harding of reports.

Musgrave was cast off the active roster in order to make room for Scott Oberg, who was reinstated from the paternity list in a corresponding move. Through 24 appearances in the big leagues this year, Musgrave has logged a pedestrian 5.08 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 23:17 K:BB across 33.2 innings of relief.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Activated from DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave (hip) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.

He ends up missing the minimum amount of time on the DL. Musgrave, who has a 4.76 ERA in 28.1 innings, will return to a low-leverage role in the bullpen.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Set to begin rehab assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrove (hip) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, Thomas Harding of reports.

He's expected to cover two innings out of the bullpen in relief of Chad Bettis (finger), who is also joining Albuquerque for a rehab outing. Musgrove landed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right hip flexor last weekend and doesn't look like he'll be sidelined for much longer than the minimum amount of time.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Hits disabled list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave was placed on the disabled list with a strained right hip flexor Saturday.

The severity of the issue is not yet clear. Musgrave has a 4.76 ERA and a 20:16 K:BB in 28.1 innings for the Rockies this season. In a corresponding move, Sam Howard was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Back from bereavement
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave was reinstated from the bereavement list Wednesday, The Denver Post reports.

Musgrave is back with the Rockies after missing the last three games while on bereavement. With three of the team's other key relievers (Adam Ottavino, Mike Dunn and Scott Oberg) all on the disabled list, Musgrave could see some high-leverage innings upon his return to action.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Hits bereavement list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Rockies placed Musgrave on the bereavement list Saturday.

Musgrave has been unavailable for the past three games, putting a strain on a Colorado bullpen that has three other key relievers (Adam Ottavino, Mike Dunn and Scott Oberg) on the 10-day disabled list. He could rejoin the Rockies in Philadelphia ahead of Wednesday's game against the Phillies, but will likely be limited to low-leverage work once he returns.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Holds own in first MLB stint
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave holds a 1.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in nine innings since being promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 26-year-old lefty doesn't overwhelm anyone with velocity, but he has held his own against big-league hitters this season. Musgrave is especially dominating lefties, as they have yet to collect a hit off him this season. His 4:4 K:BB is pretty weak, however, largely limiting his fantasy intrigue unless he gets a chance to make a spot start or two.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Promoted to big leagues
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave's contract was purchased from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

With Chris Rusin landing on the disabled list with an intercostal strain, the Rockies were in need of a new long reliever. Enter Musgrave, who very nearly grabbed a rotation spot in last year's spring training. The young southpaw has a 3.38 ERA and a 10:2 K:BB in three starts for the Isotopes this season, so he offers some intrigue in case he gets called to make a spot start during his time in the majors.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Option to occupy MLB rotation spot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave is a candidate to fill the vacancy in the Rockies rotation created when Jon Gray (toe) was placed on the disabled list, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

The 25-year-old southpaw hung around in big league camp and competed for a rotation spot to the end of spring training. Although the opportunity is there, Musgrave hasn't enjoyed as much success at Triple-A Albuquerque as he did in spring training, and given Musgrave's status off the 40-man roster, Jeff Hoffman and German Marquez may have the upper hand at the moment. The Rockies don't need a fifth starter until April 28, however, so this is a bit of a moot point in the present.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Sent back to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave was reassigned to minor-league camp Thursday, Nick Groke and Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post report.

The young left-hander seemed to have the inside track to a long-relief role thanks to an excellent Cactus League showing, but the Rockies decided they would rather have Musgrave develop further as a starter back at Triple-A Albuquerque. That being said, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to Denver relatively soon if he dominates minor-league hitters in tune with his spring performance. This move opens the door for one of Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela and German Marquez to begin the season in the major-league bullpen (whichever one doesn't garner a rotation spot).

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Candidate to fill long-relief role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave could slide into the Rockies bullpen as a long reliever while Chris Rusin (oblique) is out, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

Musgrave has impressed throughout his time in big-league camp this spring, posting a 2.76 ERA in 16.1 spring innings while producing a 14:2 K:BB. His stamina and left-handedness make him an ideal candidate to fill the role that Rusin historically played, while also allowing the Rockies to get Musgrave some big-league experience before attempting to crack Colorado's rotation. Nothing is set in stone yet, but this seems like a likely scenario at this point even though Musgrave isn't on the 40-man roster as of now.

Rockies' Harrison Musgrave: Remains in thick of rotation race
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Musgrave is still a dark horse candidate for the final spot in the Rockies' rotation.

The field thinned out a bit after pitching prospect Jeff Hoffman was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, making the window for Musgrave's entry into the big leagues a bit wider. However, right-hander German Marquez and left-hander Kyle Freeland appear to be the front-runners for the final two spots, with Antonio Senzatela also jockeying for a role in Colorado. This seems to have Musgrave on the outside looking in, although his 3.21 ERA and 10:1 K:BB in 14 spring innings has kept him in the conversation for far longer than anyone initially expected.
