The Red Sox recalled Lakins from Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Lakins will help Boston fortify its depth in the bullpen after Ryan Weber was sent to Triple-A following Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Angels. The reliever had previously made seven appearances with Boston earlier this season, giving up six runs on 10 hits and six walks in 9.1 innings.

Lakins spent five days on the big-league roster, allowing one run in 2.1 innings of work across three appearances. He'll head back to the minors with Hector Velazquez (back) returning from the injured list and Ryan Brasier returning from the bereavement list.

Lakins spent less than a week on the big-league roster. He got into three games, allowing four runs in 4.1 innings of work. Colten Brewer and Josh Taylor were recalled from Pawtucket in corresponding moves for Lakins and Mitch Moreland (back), who was placed on the injured list.
