Player Outlook
A potentially above-average defensive third baseman with a chance for above-average power and an above-average hit tool, Bryan Ramos is Chicago's long-term answer at the hot corner. He missed the first six weeks of the season with a groin injury and managed 18 home runs in 100 games across Double-A and the Arizona Fall League to close the year. Ramos hit .272 at Double-A and .267 in the AFL while striking out 21.5 percent of the time at those two levels as a 21-year-old. It's not the most explosive tool set, but Ramos has a chance to be an everyday compiler who contributes positively in four of the five roto categories (he's not much of a base stealer despite decent athleticism). Yoan Moncada is owed $14 million for 2024 with a club option for 2025, but if he is gets traded or injured at some point this season, Ramos could get the call and never look back.

Ramos went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Friday against the Cubs in Cactus League action. Friday's homer came off Ryan Borucki and marked Ramos' first extra-base hit of the exhibition season. He won't challenge for a spot on the Opening Day roster, but he should start the season with Double-A Birmingham and could earn an audition in the majors by the close of the campaign.
