Huang signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Huang made his major-league debut in 2019, posting a 3.18 ERA over 5.2 innings pitched for the Rangers. The right-hander was not tendered a contract by the team, but he will return to the organization, likely with Triple-A Nashville. The 26-year-old had a lackluster performance at the Triple-A level last year, recording a 6.10 ERA with a 1.58 WHIP over 31 innings.

Huang was non-tendered by the Rangers on Monday.

Huang appeared in four games for Texas in 2019, allowing two runs on eight hits and five walks while fanning two over 5.2 innings out of the bullpen. He's likely headed for a minor-league deal after being cut loose Monday.

Huang was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Huang made just two appearances during his most recent stint with the Rangers, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks in 2.1 innings of work. Jeffrey Springs will take his place on the roster and in the bullpen.

Huang was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

Huang will take the roster spot of Shawn Kelley (infection), who was placed on the injured list ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Astros. The right-hander has made a pair of appearances for the Rangers this season, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out one across 3.1 innings of relief.

The Rangers optioned Huang to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Huang was the chosen casualty with the Rangers requiring a roster spot for Drew Smyly (arm), who was activated from the 10-day injured ahead of his start Sunday against the Blue Jays. During his week-and-a-half-long stint with the big club, Huang appeared in one game and tossed a scoreless inning in relief.

Huang was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Huang's latest trip to the minors lasted just two days, as he's been promoted to the Rangers for the second time in 2019. Patrick Wisdom was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Huang was optioned to Double-A Frisco following Wednesday's loss to the Athletics.

Huang was called up from Double-A on Tuesday and allowed two runs (one earned) over 2.1 innings during his lone major-league appearance. The 25-year-old rejoins Frisco where he posted a 2.08 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 14:0 K:BB over 8.2 innings prior to his promotion.

Huang's contract was selected from Double-A Frisco on Wednesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Huang has a 2.08 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 8.2 innings this year for Frisco. The corresponding move will send Drew Smyly (arm) to the 10-day injured list, opening up his scheduled start on Wednesday. The Wednesday starter will likely come from the bullpen, and Huang could help as well in the middle innings.

Huang was optioned to Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.

Huang had a 2.00 ERA at the Double-A level in the Diamondbacks organization prior to a midseason trade, but he struggled to a 6.30 mark for Frisco after the move. He'll need to impress there this season if he's to earn a promotion.
