    The Marlins released Pompey on June 14. Miami elected to cut ties with the 25-year-old outfielder after he completed his 50-game suspension, which he was handed in February for a second violation of minor-league baseball's drug policy.   • Marlins' Tristan Pompey: Handed 50-game ban

    Pompey was suspended for 50 games Friday after a second positive test for a drug of abuse. The suspension will keep Pompey out for most of the first two months of the season. The 24-year-old hit .195/.314/.262 with one homer and one steal in 56 games across the two highest levels of the minors last season.
