The Tigers have selected Cabrera with the 62nd overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft.
A likely left fielder, Cabrera's bat will have to come close to maxing out for him to be an everyday player. He has a pretty left-handed swing, but it is geared for contact, not power, and he doesn't log particularly high exit velocities. Cabrera hits the ball to all fields and walked more than he struck out in 17 (all non-conference) games for LSU this spring, so he is definitely a skilled hitter. However, he will probably need to increase his launch angle to make the requisite offensive impact to be a corner outfielder in the big leagues. He is a solid-average runner whose success rate on the bases (20-for-23 in 177 games for LSU and in the Cape Cod League) oversells his pure speed.
