Mariners' Robinson Cano: Rare day off Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cano is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.

Cano has only been out of the lineup for 11 games this season, and all of them came during a stint on the disabled list (quadriceps) in mid-May. It appears that manager Scott Servais is giving the second baseman a day off after Tuesday's extra-inning victory over the Red Sox, in which Cano went 2-for-6 with a double during his time at the plate. In his place, Danny Espinosa draws his first start in a Mariners uniform after signing a deal with the team last Sunday.

Mariners' Robinson Cano: Three hits against former team Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cano went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees.

Cano was responsible for the Mariners' only run of the night and had one of only two multi-hit efforts. Thursday's production snapped the All-Star out of the 1-for-18 slump that had encompassed his previous five games, but he still sports a sub-Mendoza Line .197 average in July.

Mariners' Robinson Cano: Clubs 18th homer Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cano went 2-for-4 with a walk and a three-run home run in Friday's 4-2 win over the White Sox.

His third-inning shot off James Shields, Cano's 18th homer of the year, provided James Paxton with all the offense he would need. The slugging second baseman now has five homers and 12 RBI in his last 12 games, and that doesn't even include his All-Star Game heroics.

Mariners' Robinson Cano: Earns All-Star MVP honors with late-inning heroics
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cano went 1-for-2 with the game-winning home run en route to winning MVP honors in Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game.

Cano didn't enter the game until the seventh inning, but he proved to be the difference in Tuesday's Midsummer Classic as he roped a go-ahead home run off Wade Davis in the top of the 10th inning during the American League's 2-1 victory over their National League adversaries. His late-inning heroics were just another highlight in Cano's strong 2017 campaign. The 34-year-old is currently slashing .275/.332/.481 with 17 homers and 60 RBI on the year and will look to keep the good times rollin' during the second half of the season.

Mariners' Robinson Cano: Heading to All-Star Game after all
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cano was named an All-Star injury replacement Friday, Bob Dutton of The News Tribune reports.

The Mariners' second baseman will replace Starlin Castro, who'll miss the Midsummer Classic with a hamstring injury. Cano has seen some slight dips in all three components of his slash line as compared to 2016, but has smacked a team-high 17 homers and ranks behind only Nelson Cruz with 60 RBI.
