Orioles' Jaycob Brugman: Traded to Baltimore
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brugman was dealt to the Orioles on Wednesday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Brugman was recently designated for assignment by Oakland on Monday, and will now head to the East Coast after playing in 48 games with the A's last season. During that time, he slashed .266/.346/.343 with three home runs and 12 RBI. He will serve as outfield depth for Baltimore moving forward, and could latch onto the big-league roster as a fourth or fifth outfielder in 2018.

Orioles' Konner Wade: Traded to Orioles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade was traded to the Orioles from Colorado in exchange for international signing bonus money, Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com reports.

Wade showed improvements in his repeat season with Double-A Hartford in 2017, compiling a 4.28 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 79:21 K:BB in 109 innings of work (split between starting and relieving). He'll likely serve as organizational pitching depth for the Orioles.

Orioles' Austin Wynns: Protected from Rule 5 draft
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wynns was added to the Orioles' 40-man roster Monday.

While Wynns is not a huge force with the bat, he has displayed strong on-base skills at the Double-A level (.367 OBP), posting a 12 percent walk rate last season. He figures to get his first extended run at Triple-A in 2018.

Orioles' David Hess: Added to 40-man roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hess was added to the Orioles' 40-man roster on Monday to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

The 24-year-old righty logged a 3.85 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 123 strikeouts in 154.1 innings at Double-A, and has now logged almost 300 innings at that level. He should head to Triple-A, and could serve as an emergency big-league starter now that he is on the 40-man roster. He has back-of-the-rotation upside.

Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Added to 40-man roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Harvey was added to the Orioles' 40-man roster Monday.

This was merely a formality, as there was no way the Orioles were going to let Harvey, one of their top prospects, get away in the Rule 5 draft. Harvey missed most of 2017 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he showed flashes of his old self upon his return, posting a 0.96 ERA and 30:6 K:BB in eight starts (18.2 innings) at the lower levels.
