Red Sox's Austin Maddox: To begin throwing shortly
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Maddox (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program in the near future, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Maddox suffered a setback during a minor-league rehab game at Triple-A Pawtucket on June 5, and he was shut down from throwing immediately afterwards. Although the timetable for his return is still unknown, per Cotillo, it's positive news that Maddox will resume throwing soon.

Red Sox's C.J. Chatham: Returns from DL over weekend
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Chatham (illness) was activated from the minor-league disabled list over the weekend.

It ended up being a minimal (one week) stay on the shelf for Chatham, who was sidelined with a viral infection. The 23-year-old is 0-for-7 with a walk in two games since returning from the disabled list, but he's still batting a healthy .306/.344/.415 across 46 games with High-A Salem on the year.

Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Swats another long ball
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and scored two runs in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Mariners.

Bogaerts continues to showcase his power stroke in 2018, swatting his third homer in the last four games. For the season, he's slugging at a .518 clip with a .239 ISO, both figures are career toppers. What he's done differently this season is make an effort to swing at more balls in the zone. Instead of working at-bats to get walks, he's taking advantage of hit-able pitches early in counts. It's a similar approach he took in 2016 when he hit a career-high 21 homers.

Red Sox's Mitch Moreland: Back in lineup Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Moreland went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over Seattle.

Moreland returned to the starting lineup after getting a breather Saturday, although he did appear as a pinch hitter. The first baseman had seen his average dip from .303 to .271 after going 2-for-25 over the eight games leading up to Sunday's win. He's received the bulk of the at-bats at first base since the Red Sox designated Hanley Ramirez for assignment, and manager Alex Cora is realizing he'll need to give Moreland more regular downtime in order to sustain his offense.

Red Sox's Jackie Bradley: Homers against Mariners
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bradley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Boston's 9-3 victory over the Mariners on Sunday.

It's been a season of struggles for Bradley, but he showed some life in this contest, touching up Chasen Bradford with a seventh-inning solo shot. He's still been having a rough go of it thus far in 2018, as his slash line sits at .184/.280/.301 through 206 at-bats.
