Royals' Kelvin Herrera: Won't miss much time, if any
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Herrera, who left Tuesday's game early with forearm tightness, is not expected to miss much time, if any. Manager Ned Yost went so far as to say the closer could be available Wednesday against the Rockies, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star, reports.

Fantasy owners are in a tough spot with Herrera on Wednesday. A decision regarding his availability could come before the game, but it sounds more like a situation in which Herrera would test the forearm from the bullpen if needed late in the game. The good news is that Yost confirmed the ailment is centralized in the wrist, and not Herrera's elbow.

Royals' Mike Minor: Gets back on track for 12th hold
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Minor struck out three over 1.2 perfect innings Tuesday against Colorado to earn his 12th hold of the season.

The veteran reliever had been riding high through most of the campaign before hitting a wall just before August. In seven appearances between July 29 and Aug. 15, Minor posted a 6.23 ERA while being tagged with two blown saves and three losses. He seems to be back on track now, though, as the southpaw has allowed just one hit while striking out seven over his last two games (four innings).

Royals' Salvador Perez: Two hits in Tuesday's return
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Perez went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Rockies.

The All-Star catcher showed no rust in his return to action from an oblique strain that cost him 16 games. Perez will need to be a big part of the Royals' offense down the stretch if the team wants to remain in the AL playoff picture, but his career-high .514 SLG and .824 OPS on the year suggest he's up to the task.

Royals' Scott Alexander: Records first career save Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alexander got the final out of Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Rockies to pick up his first career big-league save.

Kelvin Herrera left the game with two outs and the bases loaded due to forearm tightness, and with Brandon Maurer struggling recently and Mike Minor having pitched earlier in the night, it was Alexander who got the call to finish things. If Herrera's injury proves to be a serious one, however, don't expect Alexander to factor into the ninth-inning mix on a regular basis.

Royals' Danny Duffy: Teases no-hitter in Tuesday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Duffy (8-8) picked up the win against the Rockies on Tuesday, giving up two runs on one hits and three walks over six innings while striking out seven.

He took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but after Nolan Arenado launched a two-run homer with two outs to end any chance at a history-making performance, Duffy turned things over to the bullpen. The left-hander seems to have found his strikeout stuff again, fanning at least six batters in five straight starts, but his 4.50 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over that stretch despite an 11.1 K/9 are a disappointment. He'll next take the mound Sunday in Cleveland.
