Dodgers' Justin Turner: Exits after HBP
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Turner was removed from Thursday's game against the Phillies after getting hit by a pitch on his right thumb, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Turner was plunked in the top of the first inning Thursday, and while he was initially able to stay in the contest after getting checked out by trainers, he was ultimately replaced by Austin Barnes prior to the second inning. The severity of the injury is still unclear, but more should be known once he is reevaluated following the conclusion of Thursday's game.

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Staying in game despite HBP on Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Turner was hit by a pitch in the chest and right hand Thursday in the first inning against the Phillies, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. However, he's staying in the game after being checked on by trainers, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

It appears Turner has dodged an immediate catastrophe but will be monitored as the game goes along. Stay tuned for updates later Thursday.

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Will sit for several days
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Manager Dave Roberts said Seager will be out of the lineup "at least [the] next couple of days," David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

It may be best to hope for a Monday return, at the earliest, for Seager, who fouled a ball off his right ankle Wednesday. X-rays thankfully came back negative, so the elite shortstop should return sometime this season. Of course, with the Dodgers close to clinching homefield advantage in the playoffs -- despite their recent swoon and the Nationals gaining ground -- they may not be in a rush if Seager doesn't feel right. Given his murky timetable, his fantasy owners should line up an alternative.

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Takes seat Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Seager (ankle) is not in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

The shortstop fouled a ball off his ankle Wednesday, and he stayed in the contest afterward. X-rays were negative, so perhaps this absence is merely precautionary and he'll be back in the next few days. Still, it wouldn't be surprising if the Dodgers rested him a bit more before the postseason, but the Nationals still have an outside shot at homefield advantage, so Los Angeles may want to wrap that up before making other plans. Meanwhile, Logan Forsythe takes his place at the six Thursday for his first start there since Sept. 2014.

Dodgers' Brandon Morrow: Will see more hold opportunities
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow should see increased hold opportunities with Pedro Baez (coach's decision) being held out of action for a couple of games, Bill Plinkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The 32-year-old was already pitching his way into a larger role after posting a 2.21 ERA and 5.8 K/BB ratio through 42 appearances, but with Baez out of the picture, Morrow clearly becomes the top option for hold chances -- and potential vulture saves -- in Los Angeles.
