Mets' Steven Matz: Battles through five scoreless innings
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Matz gave up two hits and five walks over five scoreless innings during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Matz was hardly at his best with only 54 strikes in 91 pitches, but battled to keep the Phillies off the board while helping himself with a solo home run during the third inning. The 27-year-old has a 4.03 ERA and 1.24 WHIP and lines up to start at Washington on Sunday.

Mets' Amed Rosario: Doubles, plates run vs. Boston
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Red Sox.

Rosario managed to tie the game 3-3 in the seventh inning on a single to center, but the Red Sox would answer with a run of their own in the eighth and hang on to win the contest. The 22-year-old has gone 10-for-36 with five extra-base hits and five RBI over his previous 10 ballgames. Rosario will look to close out the season on a high note after slashing .259/.298/.395 through 141 games in his first full season of big-league action.

Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Slaps three-run homer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nimmo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run homer in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.

Nimmo was also hit by a pitch. He put the Mets up 3-1 with his long ball off starter Rick Porcello in the fourth inning, but the Red Sox responded with four runs in the fifth inning en route to the victory. The 25-year-old outfielder is now hitting .267/.395/.499 with 17 homers and nine stolen bases in 127 games this season.

Mets' Jay Bruce: Drives in four in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bruce went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Friday's 8-0 win over the Red Sox.

The veteran slugger is putting together a nice power surge to end an injury-plagued season, going 10-for-37 (.270) through 11 games in September with two doubles, four homers and 12 RBI. Bruce still only has a .224/.304/.379 slash line with eight homer runs through 80 games on the year, and barring a miraculous finish he'll fail to reach the 20-HR mark for only the second time in his career.
